2. Houston Rockets select: Jalen Green, G

This is where things get interesting. There is much debate to be had around who should go second overall — but the general discussion is focused on two prospects: Jalen Green and Evan Mobley. For the Houston Rockets, who have been left decimated by the loss of James Harden, either prospect makes sense.

However, the franchise appears to be enamored by Green and his explosive scoring. He’s the fastest way to replace Harden’s offensive production and by far the most exciting prospect in the draft behind Cade Cunningham.

Green averaged 17.9 points in the G-League and showed off his impressive instincts for scoring the basketball. He’ll have no problem translating his game to the NBA as he’s capable of getting buckets from any spot on the court.

The potential of pairing Green with another shot creator (Kevin Porter) in the backcourt is one the Rockets aren’t likely to pass up.
