Golden State Warriors NBA Mock Draft: Final predictions before July 29

4. Toronto Raptors select: Jalen Suggs, G
The 2021 NBA Draft gets interesting after the consensus top-three. However, it feels fairly safe to assume the Toronto Raptors will select Jalen Suggs fourth overall despite some rumblings that other prospects could rise on draft night.
Suggs likely solidified his spot in the top four due to an electric performance in the NCAA Tournament. He propelled Gonzaga to the National Championship game with shooting, slashing, defense and jaw-dropping passes.
It would only make sense for Toronto to draft an heir to the throne with Kyle Lowry entering the latter stages of his career. Having Lowry there to mentor and pass the torch to Suggs is a recipe for long-term success.
5. Orlando Magic select: Scottie Barnes, F
At No. 5, the Orlando Magic have numerous options. Truthfully, they can pick anyone from the bunch who they feel has the highest ceiling — as the Magic don’t have any solidified building blocks in the rebuild just yet.
Sure, players like Jonathan Isaac, Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton and even Markelle Fultz all have promise. But, Orlando is pretty free to draft a player strictly in terms of potential rather than fit. For this reason, Scottie Barnes should be the pick.
Barnes is probably the biggest hit-or-miss player in the draft. He has an obvious path to stardom as a Paul George type of 3-and-D threat. In contrast, his limited offensive game and raw athleticism will only go so far if he doesn’t hone his talents.
Fortunately for Orlando, this is a risk they can afford to take. Trading Nikola Vucevic and Aaron Gordon officially kicked off a brand new rebuild and Barnes is a decent work in progress to start with.
