12. San Antonio Spurs select: Davion Mitchell, G

At this point, guards like Davion Mitchell, Moses Moody, Keon Johnson and Josh Giddey are just waiting to finally be drafted. I’d expect them all to be taken fairly soon if not in the next three picks — but I’d feel comfortable betting on San Antonio taking Mitchell if he’s available.

I can’t think of a prospect who embodies the Spurs’ culture more. He’s a selfless player who plays hard on both ends of the floor. A strong defender and decision-maker, Mitchell is an instant impact player for San Antonio.

13. Indiana Pacers select: Moses Moody, G

Another rebuild is underway in Indiana and Moses Moody might be the guy who can replace some of what they lost in Victor Oladipo.

Moody is a high-scoring guard with a nose for on-ball defense. His 6’6″ build makes him an easy fit in the Pacers’ backcourt rotation with Malcolm Brogdon and Caris LeVert. With proper development, Moody can be a lethal two-way threat for Indy.

14. Golden State Warriors select: Josh Giddey, G

Just barely missing on prospects like Davion Mitchell and Moses Moody would be a disappointing blow for the Golden State Warriors. Thankfully, other guards like Keon Johnson and Josh Giddey will serve as valid compensation at the back of the lottery. In this case, the Warriors will set their eyes on the latter.

Giddey, a 6’7″ guard from Australia boasts an all-around skill-set that should entice the Dubs. He averaged 10.9 points, 7.5 assists and 7.4 rebounds in the NBL at just 18 years of age. For comparison, LaMelo Ball posted 17.0 points, 7.6 rebounds and 6.8 assists in the NBL at the same age.

Now, Giddey is nowhere near the flashy distributor or ball handler that Melo is — but he’s a player with a great feel for the game and who can be an instant success story in Golden State. Though he has room to improve as a shooter, his rebounding and playmaking will make him a welcomed presence on the bench.

Overall, this caps out to a pretty decent draft for the Warriors. They fill two positions of need and build an exciting roster for the following season.
