The Warriors have been working out a slew of prospects that they could take with the No. 7 overall pick.

Moses Moody is one of them, and the Dubs have already worked out the Arkansas star guard. Moody has some stellar highlights from his lone season at Arkansas, showing his aggression defensively, ability to shoot from deep, and vision.

The Golden State Warriors have been doing their fair share of scouting who they should take with the 7th overall pick. What should they do with that pick?

Moody is just one of several potential players. It’s a list of includes Baylor guard Davion Mitchell and Duke forward Jalen Johnson, each having their own reasons to be taken at No. 7. There are many players that could be taken at 7.

The Dubs should have a good idea of who will be available as the top-six players seem somewhat locked in. That’s both helpful and painful to know as that means the top-six players are a tier above the rest of the pack.

It really shouldn’t matter as the Golden State Warriors should trade the pick. That’s what they should do with the 7th overall pick — trade it.

The prospects that could make a difference are there, but none would have the immediate impact that a player like Myles Turner or Pascal Siakam would have. If a bigger trade for an older player like Damian Lillard or Paul George is on the table, then doing that is a no-brainer option.

However, it’s unlikely the Warriors would want to trade all the future assets it would take to acquire either player. On top of that, they may not truly need that third superstar talent to reign over the league.

Just theoretical trades for Lillard would start with Andrew Wiggins, James Wiseman, at least four first-round picks, and then potentially a plethora of pick swaps as well. For a 31-year-old, that seems extreme.

Golden State needs to find a balance of a trade that would help them now and not starve them of any future assets. It will be a tough spot for the Dubs to land in, but trading the pick for a player that can help them contend is the right move.

The Warriors have a small window left to win a championship. Their Big 3 are all starting to age more into their 30s, and with one or two more prime seasons remaining, the Dubs must take advantage of them.

It may be painful to trade the pick knowing the talent that’s there, especially after the workouts that they’re putting on. However, Golden State needs to think of the now which would include strengthening their current roster with a developed player that could immediately contribute.
