Golden State Warriors player most likely traded: Andrew Wiggins

Andrew Wiggins still doesn’t play up to his contract. It’s more the fault of the Minnesota Timberwolves who gave the former No. 1 overall pick a max-value deal.

Despite not topping 20 points per game in his first full season with the Warriors, Wiggins saw career-high levels of efficiency which is even more impactful, especially for a team like Golden State.

The 2014-2015 Rooke of the Year, Wiggins averaged 18.6 points per game, the fourth-best amount of his seven-year career. However, he hit a career-high 47.7 percent of his shots from the field.

He also knocked down 2.0 threes on 38 percent shooting, respectively the second-most and most of his career. Those are huge upticks that could provide proof of his value. But, Wiggins is set to make over $31.5 million each of the next two seasons.

That will make him hard to trade but also the perfect add in to make contracts match for any big-time name.

A Lillard or Siakam trade would also include Wiggins to make the cap space work. That’s where his value comes in, and given his production this past season, Golden State should also consider the value that he does bring in the Bay Area.
