The disappearance of three-time All-Star forward Draymond Green’s shot has shocked everyone. This past season, he was being left completely wide open at the top of the key as defenders flocked to Stephen Curry who was typically somewhere in the vicinity.

That might change next season, or at least there’s some hope that it will. Both head coach Steve Kerr and Green are representing Team USA in the Tokyo Olympics. Kerr rebounded for Green as he went throughout his shooting warmup.

The Golden State Warriors may get another capable three-point threat for next season as Draymond Green has been “shooting the hell out of the ball.”

He left impressed by how Green was shooting.

"“I’m not kidding — Draymond is shooting the hell out of the ball. Whether it’s in drills … he is playing with a ton of confidence. I think the last couple months were so good for him after what was a tough season last year,” Kerr said on 95.7 The Game’s Damon Bruce show via CBS Sports."

Once upon a time, Green was a competent three-point threat. He shot 38.8 percent from deep during his fourth season in the league, and it wasn’t just on a couple of attempts either. Green was drilling 1.2 threes per game.

Fast forward to this past season, and Green’s lacking three-point shot is dumbfounding to those that have followed his career. Green shot 27 percent from deep, one percent worst than the 27.9 percent he shot from deep a season ago.

Green has talked about getting the best shot possible for the team multiple times. Those shots used to include a wide-open three by Green, but his recent struggles have left him looking for an oftentimes double-teamed Curry, which, no one can really argue with.

If Green can improve his shooting, it could be huge for Golden State. The court spacing which would come with Green “shooting the hell out of the ball” next season would be ideal, especially if they retain former first-round pick James Wiseman.

Green shot 32 percent of his shots without a defender within six feet. On those attempts, he still hit only 27 percent of his threes. That’s not just a bad game or bad stretch of play. Green’s been unable to shoot for seasons.

Getting his form back would be huge for Golden State, and if Kerr’s comments mean anything, we may see that this coming season.
