Golden State Warriors should consider Moses Moody in NBA Draft

Whereas Davion Mitchell is a defensive savant who can help the Golden State Warriors with his efficient playmaking — Moses Moody is a prospect who can simply raise the floor for everyone in the second unit. That is to say, he’s a much more exciting scorer than Mitchell.

Moody is a three-level scorer who found success in multiple roles last season. He averaged nearly 17 points on 43/36/81 shooting splits as a freshman in the NCAA. Those are pretty impressive numbers for a guy who stands at 6’6″ with alien-like arms. Just look at this picture his mom posted on Twitter.

It’s hard not to get excited about a player with this size and fluidity as a scorer. He has room to grow as a passer and a little work to do defensively — but Moody is a fairly safe prospect for a late lottery selection.

The Warriors won’t be able to rely on Moody to make the same high-IQ players that Mitchell is capable of. Rather, they’d ride the lightning and allow Moody’s potential as a two-way threat to lead the charge.
