Golden State Warriors should consider James Bouknight in NBA Draft
Entering the final prospect on our list, no one has garnered more excitement during the pre-draft process than James Bouknight. He’s reportedly been shooting the lights out in all of his workouts and his versatile talents on offense make him an ideal fit for the Golden State Warriors.
Bouknight has found success as a pull-up shooter AND moving without the ball for catch-and-shoot opportunities. Does this sound like something the Warriors should be interested in? Absolutely.
Last season, Bouknight posted 18.7 points on an underwhelming 29.3 percent clip from the 3-point line. However, he’s a career 80 percent free throw shooter and has been impressing teams with his efficiency in workouts this summer. I don’t think there is much to be concerned about in terms of becoming a strong shooter at the next level for Bouknight.
And, the rest of his game is pretty much already there. He’s an explosive athlete with great length. He could benefit from adding a few pounds to become a stronger defender but Bouknight will surely make up for that weakness with his production on offense.
The Warriors might not have Bouknight at the top of their big board but they will have to take a close look at him in the event he’s available at No. 7 or even later at 14.
