Golden State Warriors can target Damian Lillard

Is it possible that Dame Time will make an appearance in the Bay Area? Your guess is as good as mine — but there’s no denying that this rumor is gaining traction as of late.

Everyone is wondering, how would the Golden State Warriors make it work with three high-powered guards dominating the ball? While size would be the biggest issue, I don’t think the team would have any issue divvying up ball-handling responsibilities.

Over the years, Golden State has built one of the most selfless brands of basketball the league has seen in quite some time. I don’t doubt for a second that the trio of Lillard, Curry and Thompson would find a way to punish opponents on a routine basis.

And, even with my most optimistic glasses on, it’s hard to see the Warriors acquiring Lillard without gutting their roster for the future. This is the ultimate gamble. It will take a plethora of picks just to get Portland to consider a deal. Failure to win a championship would send this franchise into the abyss.

Regardless, these rumors won’t be going away until the draft night is over. Dame Time comes with obvious costs — but maybe, just maybe, he’d be worth the price.
