The Golden State Warriors drafted James Wiseman last season. With the No. 2 overall pick, they went with a center. While Evan Mobley may transition into a multi-position talent, should the Golden State Warriors even consider him?

For starters, it would mean they would trade up as there seemingly is no way Mobley gets even close to their first pick at No. 7.

Yes, I am the kind of guy who looks at most players like Mobley and says “but he’s a center!” So, should the Golden State Warriors take a look at him?

There’s no argument that center is the most replaceable position at the NBA level in terms of starting quality, and the direction the NBA is going makes it harder and harder to justify taking true bigs at the top of the draft.

But sometimes a player can break the mold, and Mobley is exactly the guy to do so.

Though he has no chance of falling to the Warriors at 7, the Cavaliers are clearly thinking hard about their future. Would the Warriors be willing to push the chips in to acquire Mobley? Should they?

First, it’s important to learn about the prospect himself.
