4. Golden State Warriors select Franz Wagner in 2021 NBA Draft

It feels safe to say Franz Wagner will be available at No. 7 for the Golden State Warriors. He might even be on the board at the end of the lottery when the Dubs are up to select once again. Is he worth taking a look at?

Wagner has the makings of a connector piece for the Warriors. He can pass, shoot and dribble. This triple-threat on the wing is incredibly valuable and will allow Wagner to fit in any lineup the Dubs toss him in.

Last season, Franz posted 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists on near 50 percent shooting from the floor. His 3-point efficiency wasn’t great but he clipped over 80 percent of his free throw attempts. I have little doubt Wagner will be able to succeed as a catch-and-shoot threat at the NBA level.

He isn’t the most explosive athlete and he could use to gain some weight — but his 6’9″ stature and long wingspan make up for this. It shouldn’t be hard for Wagner to slot himself into the rotation and make an impact as a secondary playmaker and floor spacer for Golden State.
