2. Golden State Warriors select Scottie Barnes in 2021 NBA Draft

Everything that was said of Jonathan Kuminga must be said about Scottie Barnes, as well. Although, I think the likelihood of Golden State JUMPING on the opportunity to select Barnes is much higher than their interest in Kuminga.

While both are unproven prospects with loads of development to do, Barnes is simply a more enticing selection with his incredible size and movement. He’s almost a guarantee to be a top-tier defender one day and he is only limited by his lack of consistent shooting at this point.

Barnes has room to grow as a ball-handler and will need to round out his playmaking skills in order to be a true threat at the wing. Regardless, his muscular frame and lanky arms are going to wreak havoc on the perimeter against opponents.

The Warriors will have to wait a few years to fully reap the benefits of whatever Barnes can become. At his peak, he’s an absolute stud on both ends of the floor. It’s hard to imagine the Warriors can’t bring out the best of him, however. Even without expanding his range too much — there is an obvious fit for Barnes as the next iteration of Andre Iguodala in Golden State.
