Sadly, despite clearly trying, the Golden State Warriors were not able to trade their two lottery picks.

There’s no denying that seemed to be the ideal way for the Warriors to improve this offseason. Without much cap space and Kelly Oubre Jr. unlikely to re-sign, Golden State will have few options in the free agency market.

The Golden State Warriors drafted two players, Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody. These three current players should benefit from those two picks.

However, many of the trades that surfaced seemed preposterous. The Warriors were never going to trade four first-round picks, James Wiseman and Andrew Wiggins for Ben Simmons. With that in mind, they retained their picks.

With the No. 7 overall pick, they took Jonathan Kuminga, a top-four prospect coming out of high school. Kuminga played 13 games with the G-League Ignite. Given his decision-making and inefficiency, Kuminga slipped in the draft.

Golden State gladly took him at 7 and then turned their sights towards Arkansas forward Moses Moody at No. 14. He was also a terrific pick for the team and one that should give their team next season a solid boost.

That said, while those two are winners for being taken by Golden State, three current Warriors also won the lottery by the team drafting those two. Let’s dive into who they are.
