Golden State Warriors that’ll benefit from draft: James Wiseman

The Golden State Warriors need to keep developing the skillset of James Wiseman, and if they were to add a player like center Kai Jones, then it would’ve been tough to give the former No. 2 pick all the time he needs.

Wiseman averaged 11.5 points per game as a rookie. He didn’t play as well as most had imagined, but he still managed to shoot 52 percent from the field. Wiseman also showed a small three-point game, shooting one per game and hitting 32 percent of his attempts.

Golden State took an ultra-athletic small forward and then a more developed small forward that could also play behind Klay Thompson. Moody’s ability to transition and defend guards could be huge for them as both Damion Lee and Mychal Mulder lack defensive aptitude.

As for Wiseman, he’s still going to be unleashed as the Dubs’ top prospect. He was the team’s top-five pick last season, and they clearly weren’t looking to trade him as at least one offer, a massive blockbuster deal for Ben Simmons, came in.

That said, the Dubs are going to continue to unleash Wiseman this upcoming season.
