Alec Burks can return to Golden State Warriors

It has never been more important to have multiple ball handlers and shot creators on the floor at the same time. Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors know this already, as last season was a harsh reality check. Without Klay Thompson to take attention off of Curry — the Dubs struggled to generate consistent offense.

This is where Alec Burks can offer his help. The Warriors won’t want to overwhelm Thompson in his return from consecutive season-ending injuries. Instead, they’ll need offensive threats such as Burks to fill in as spark plugs.

Using Burks in short bursts off the bench will help the Dubs keep the ship afloat during Curry’s rest periods. Burks averaged 12.7 points on 42/41/85 shooting splits last season for the New York Knicks.

This type of production is precisely what the Dubs will be looking for in the second unit. And, it helps that Burks is already familiar with the organization, playing 48 games for the Warriors back in 2020.
