Golden State Warriors should NOT pursue DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins was able to have a surprisingly positive impact for the LA Clippers at various times in last year’s NBA Playoffs. His bully ball style of overpowering opponents and punishing them in the paint can be rewarding in small spurts.

But, same as Frank Kaminsky, Cousins quickly becomes a liability on the other end of the floor. With high-powered offensive players who can dribble circles around slower bigs — it is tough for Cousins to remain in the game.

Furthermore, Cousins has always been a bit of a wild card. He’s prone to foul trouble and can have mind-numbing moments of carelessness during key moments. There’s no question he plays with passion but that fire can sometimes burn his own team.

The Golden State Warriors would love to have a successful reunion with Boogie and help him capture a title but signing the aging center is too much of an unnecessary risk.
