Golden State Warriors free agent target: Lou Williams — re-signed with Hawks

When the postseason comes, the Golden State Warriors are going to want reliable scoring options.

Although Jordan Poole will be in his third season, there’s no denying the team may rather have Sweet Lou will the ball in his hands. Williams helped carry the Atlanta Hawks when Trae Young was sidelined.

Even with Young, Williams thrived. On a one-year contract to help give Poole more time to develop without too much pressure as the leader of the second unit, Williams would give the Warriors exactly what they need.

He shot 40 percent from three-point land. That’s a huge positive that the Warriors could instantly add to their roster. While he would be a defensive liability, Williams and Curry would make a dynamic duo.

Williams averaged 11.3 points per game, and he’s been notching at least double figures since the 2006-2007 season. That’s the type of production the Warriors could use, and it would likely be what they’d get with Williams which is enough to take a chance on the 34-year-old.
