Golden State Warriors free agent target: JJ Redick

Another aging veteran that the Warriors need to consider signing is shooting guard JJ Redick. The 37-year-old didn’t play well with the Mavericks. He would also be a defensive liability, but if he could catch fire, he’d be one worth considering.

Redick has proven throughout his career that he’s among the best sharpshooters in the NBA, and that touch doesn’t just go away. Redick has a 41.5 percent career three-point average. However, his age may start to hurt how productive he can be.

Most recently, Redick averaged 7.4 points per game, splitting time between the Pelicans and Mavericks. At his best, Redick neared 20 points per game and that was just a few seasons ago with the 76ers.

He’s capable of causing distractions and running off screens despite his potential to struggle on the defensive end. If he can prove he still has the touch from deep, it may be worth the Warriors’ while to sign him to a minimum-value deal.
