Golden State Warriors’ Klay Thompson bridge: Josh Hart

One of the free agents still on the board that should intrigue the Warriors is Pelicans’ Josh Hart.

Hart was originally drafted by the Lakers. He was taken with the last pick in the 2017 NBA Draft and spent two seasons in LA before being traded to the Pelicans in the deal that sent Anthony Davis to Los Angeles.

Having an experienced collegiate career, Hart came in and immediately contributed.

The focal point of his game is as a 3-and-D shooting guard, and he does that very well. This past season, Hart averaged 9.2 points per game and 1.3 triples per game. He’s a career 35 percent three-point shooter.

Hart would be a solid addition for the Warriors, and he could be a competent backup for Thompson when he returns. The Warriors have a couple of other shooting guard options, but none are as good defensive or have the size of Hart.

He’s the preferred option but also the most unlikely.
