It’s been a great showing for various members of the Golden State Warriors Summer League squad. The team is competing each night and key names have stepped up to play big roles in their three outings thus far.

The Golden State Warriors are off to a great start in Las Vegas as multiple players show promise in their first game.

Everyone is focusing on Moses Moody and Jonathan Kuminga, the two latest rookies to be selected with a lottery pick by the Dubs. And, the two have not disappointed. Kuminga, in particular, is off to a strong start.

Using his incredible size, Kuminga has been able to knife into the lane and overpower opponents on his way to the bucket. He’s showing a smooth touch around the rim and has no issue bulldozing or finessing his way around defenders to finish easy looks.

Kuminga’s promise as a ball-handler has been on full display, as well. He’s generating most of his offense by breaking down his defender and slashing to the hoop. This will make him a valuable weapon for the Dubs if he can fulfill his role as a transition threat.

His jump shot has been shaky — but we knew that coming into Vegas. Kuminga hasn’t found his rhythm just yet and many of his 3-pointers fall flat. Nonetheless, he’s been a plus defender and has shot above 50 percent in each of his outings.

As for Moody, offense has been his bread and butter. He’s unloading the clip with no hesitation, shooting 7-of-18 from the floor and 2-for-4 from the 3-point line for 19 points in his first game. Like Kuminga, Moody has excelled at penetrating the defense and scoring in the paint. He’s also flashing his potential as an elite 3-point shooter.

One final standout is Kyle Guy. After a DNP versus Miami, Guy stepped in for a quick 13 points on 3-of-4 shooting in the first half against Orlando. He finished with just 15 total points but showed the Warriors that he could be a useful tool off the bench. His streaky 3-point shooting is something to watch for moving forward.

The Dubs compete again on Wednesday against Scottie Barnes and the Toronto Raptors.
