Ben Simmons is available to the Golden State Warriors

There are some issues when it comes to attaining Ben Simmons. He’d have to prove quite a lot to justify giving up the number of assets Philly is requesting in return for their three-time All-Star. But, there is no doubt he is an enticing prospect if the Golden State Warriors swung for him.

Simmons’ value is at an all-time low. He’s yet to develop any of his skills outside of playing elite defense. Simmons is still an extremely limited scorer and has actually appeared afraid to shoot the ball, whether it be a jumper or a wide-open dunk.

This is an obvious issue where the Warriors would have to feel absolutely certain Simmons will improve if they wanted to trade for him. Because, the reality is, Simmons is a reliable jump shot away from being a perennial superstar. I don’t have to remind you that analysts have been saying that for years, though.

I don’t think Simmons will ever reach his max potential in the NBA and that’s something the Warriors have to keep in mind. He’s a fantastic fit in terms of creating plays for others and defending multiple positions — but he isn’t worth the price unless Golden State enters a state of panic at the deadline.
