Golden State Warriors: Ranking NBA’s top 10 players for next season
By Tony Pesta
10. Anthony Davis
Anthony Davis had an unreal run in the 2020 NBA Playoffs, shooting a scorching hot percentage from the mid-range and just all-around dominating the Western Conference en route to the NBA Finals.
Sadly, that fire didn’t follow him into the most recent season. Davis had a down year by every metric and much of it had to do with the quick turnaround from last year’s title run to the next regular season.
With a few months off to fully recover and a brand new collection of talent around him, I’d expect Davis to comfortably fall back into his roll as the best two-way big in the NBA. Another powerful season is in store for AD.
9. Paul George
Few players have had their reputation go through the same tumultuous roller coaster that Paul Georges has. He was dragged for his collapses in the last few NBA Playoffs before redeeming himself in an electric 2021 performance.
With Kawhi Leonard sidelined, PG13 took on the role of a leader and propelled the LA Clippers to the Western Conference Finals. George averaged 29.8 points and 10.8 rebounds in the nine games following Kawhi’s injury and nearly pushed the Clippers to their first NBA Finals berth.
We can expect the seven-time All-Star to replicate this production in the upcoming season as Kawhi is set to miss a chunk of the year with his injury. George will likely thrust himself into MVP discussions if he can keep LA near the top of the West.
