4 free agents the Golden State Warriors should still pursue
Golden State Warriors potential free agent signing: Josh Hart (restricted)
With the restricted label being put on Hart’s free agency, it’s unlikely the Warriors have the money to sign him; however, they do still have the mid-level exception available. Hart is the best player on the list but also the least likely to be signed by the Warriors.
Still young, Hart is hitting the market at just 26 years old. Given his extensive collegiate career, Hart is a free agent for the first time, having seen his rookie contract expire. He averaged just over nine points per game this past season.
Hart played with the Lakers for two seasons and, upon finding his way to New Orleans, started to show his potential. He averaged over 10 points per game his first season with the Pelicans. Hart is a career 35 percent three-point shooter, and he’s an elite defender as well.
The value of quality 3-and-D players is what may get Hart paid, but still on the market, he may not be looking at more than the mid-level exception. The Pelicans may also match any contract he’s offered.
Hart is worth the look, especially as he’s the only player on this list that may have the potential to top their career highs.
