Golden State Warriors potential free agent signing: Paul Millsap

How much scoring is too much scoring? That’s the question the Warriors should answer when pondering what current free-agent forward Paul Millsap is worth. He should be a mid-level exception target.

A four-time All-Star forward, Millsap averaged double figures in 11 straight seasons. He snapped that this past season with the Nuggets. Millsap also averaged the second-fewest minutes per game of his career, so his role with the Nuggets was clearly not quite there.

There’s no guarantee he’d get that time with Golden State, but he could be a great option behind Draymond Green. During the 2019-2020 season, Millsap shot 43 percent from deep in 51 games. While he’s just a career 34 percent three-point shooter, he has improved recently.

Millsap is an efficient and competent option for the Warriors. He would be a welcome addition in whatever role. The veteran isn’t a long-term addition, but he is among the best free agents still on the market.

The Warriors could use all four of these free agents, and as of now, there’s no reported interest in any of them. They would make sense, and with the roster spot available, we’ll see where these four land.
