Golden State Warriors buy-low free agent candidate: Avery Bradley

Avery Bradley was once talked about as one of the top 3-and-D players in the NBA. Recently, he’s fallen off a cliff, having spent time with both the Miami Heat and Houston Rockets. He played just 27 games last season.

At one point in his career, Bradley averaged over 16 points per game. He’s also averaged over a three per game for almost the last decade. On top of being a reasonably competent scorer, he was mainly known for his work on the defensive side of the ball.

Bradley is a two-time All-Defensive team member. With Curry on the roster and without five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson for the foreseeable future, the Warriors could use a defense-first guard.

We know he won’t be ready to start the season, so Bradley could be the perfect bridge and potentially an elite backup at the two.

Poole would then fill in behind Curry. He could keep his offensive-minded play with Bradley picking up the slack defensively. Both Mulder and Lee are subpar defenders, so they could use a player with Bradley’s skill set in their backcourt.
