Setting goals for Golden State Warriors’ rookies (and James Wiseman)

Moses Moody must light it up from deep with the Golden State Warriors
The goal for Moses Moody’s rookie season is simple: Shoot the lights out of the ball. This is easier said than done as it typically takes players a few years to gain a rhythm from deep — but Moody will be looking to be an instant threat on the perimeter.
Moody’s introduction to the NBA will be crucial with no solidified timetable for Klay Thompson’s return. While the Golden State Warriors can count on Jordan Poole to provide production at the two during Klay’s final weeks of recovery, Moody is going to be an x-factor in giving them enough depth to compete.
Again, the Dubs have other assets like Otto Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica to hopefully compensate for the 3-point shooting void left in Thompson’s absence. Yet, Moody’s strongest attribute is his ability to drill deep shots and this will be the key to being a rotational player early on.
As is the case for everyone, Moody’s goal should be finding a niche and becoming a healthy contributor for the Dubs. For Moody, this means being a dynamic shooter who can create his own looks and finish catch-and-shoot opportunities from day one. The 19-year-old shot 37.0 percent from the 3-point line in the Summer League, giving us a good indication of what to expect moving forward.
