It’s been two seasons since the Golden State Warriors were true title contenders. Following five straight NBA Finals appearances, the last couple of seasons haven’t quite been what Golden State was expecting.

After losing in the 2019 NBA finals, the Warriors had to reload, but that was easier said than done. Kevin Durant had left and taken his talents to Brooklyn. The Warriors made the most of that bad situation.

The Golden State Warriors didn’t make a blockbuster pre-draft trade like some fans had hoped for but not all hope should be lost.

However, five-time All-Star guard Klay Thompson going down with a season-ending injury, not once but twice, was brutal for their ability to contend. Thompson is set to return after more than two years since his last appearance.

His help alone will boost the Warriors into a top-eight team in the West. They could still use more help though and, with names like Pascal Siakam and Ben Simmons on the table, a late-offseason blockbuster trade doesn’t seem too far-fetched.

That said, let’s dive into five players that, if they pull off a trade, could hear their name called.
