Golden State Warriors most likely traded: James Wiseman

Most prospected offseason trades have former No. 2 overall pick James Wiseman included in them. While the 20-year-old still has a high ceiling, he didn’t show that high-level potential like many were expecting.

Now, after the fiasco involving Ben Simmons prior to draft night and how much the Sixers were asking for him and his ensuing drop in stock, I would go as far as to say that including both Wiseman and Wiggins in a deal for Simmons isn’t worth it for Golden State.

Wiseman 11.5 points per game and almost 20 points per 36 minutes. His defensive presence wasn’t there yet, but having been out basically the full season prior, it’s not shocking he could fully grasp how to defend and not foul.

That’ll be where Wiseman has to improve this coming season, but given his value, he could be a chip in a bigger trade, one that involves Siakam or even Washington Wizards guard Bradley Beal if he becomes available.

It’s not ideal to trade Wiseman, but he shouldn’t be deemed as untouchable.
