Golden State Warriors most likely traded: Jordan Poole

While players like Damion Lee and Mychal Mulder relapsed following their terrific seasons during the Warriors’ 15-win year when both Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined to play five games, Jordan Poole didn’t.

He’ll be entering his third season in the NBA, and he may be primed for the best year of his career. Poole once again thrived late in the season after a stint with the team’s G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors.

Poole came back a much better decision-maker and played with a certain confidence to his game. He averaged 12 points per game, up from 8.8 per game his rookie season. He shot almost 10 percent better from the field which is arguably even more important than his scoring.

His three-point shooting rose about seven percent, so Poole was clearly a more efficient scorer. At just 22, Poole has a high ceiling as a backup playmaker and should be primed for a larger role this season.

With his improvements comes an increased value, and Poole could garner interest from other teams if the Warriors engage in trade talks during the late-offseason months.
