True inner-peace is when NBA 2K announces their yearly ratings and you simply do not care. While I’ve personally lost all interest in the virtual basketball franchise after years of lazy innovations and greedy business tactics — there is still some fun to be had in discussing their ratings which include Stephen Curry and other members of the Golden State Warriors.

NBA 2K is back with their yearly release of virtual basketball ratings. Today, let’s look at Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors’ rankings.

One of the first questions asked by many every year is “who is the highest-rated player in the game?” Well, this time, the answer to that isn’t so simple. 2K avoided making any conclusive decisions here — choosing to leave four players tied for the highest rating.

Stephen Curry is among the group with LeBron James, Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo all sitting at a 96 overall alongside him. Joel Embiid, Kawhi Leonard and last year’s MVP, Nikola Jokic, fall one spot below. Rounding out the list of 90 overalls are Luka Doncic, James Harden, Damian Lillard, James Harden and Jayson Tatum.

This isn’t the first year 2K elected to play it safe and give out strict ratings to start the season. If you remember, NBA 2K16 was released with just six players above a 90 overall. Curry began the year at a measly 93 overall yet would go on to win the first-ever unanimous MVP and earn a 99 overall card for 30 hours – -making him one of the deadliest video game players of all time.

Some things never change as Curry enters 2K22 as the highest-rated shooter with a, wait for it… 99 overall 3-pointer. The next closest is, you guessed it, Klay Thompson at a 95. Seth Curry, Joe Harris and Duncan Robinson finish up the top five.

While the NBA 2K franchise has long lost my interest — it will always be entertaining to see video-game Curry light it up at a ridiculous pace. As far as his upcoming ratings go, it looks like Curry will be a cheat code once again.
