The Golden State Warriors made some big moves this summer but closing out the offseason by signing Paul Millsap with the MLE would be icing on the cake.

Millsap brings two quality attributes that the franchise is in need of at the moment. His vast NBA experience and ability to provide consistent offense in the frontcourt will make the Warriors a difficult team to stop next season.

Veteran leadership and scoring in the frontcourt are two things that make Paul Millsap an ideal MLE target for the Golden State Warriors.

Reports state that Golden State is in the hunt for Millsap. They aren’t alone, however, as the Brooklyn Nets are looking to entice Millsap, as well. Two teams with championship aspirations — it is clear that executives around the league believe Millsap can still help win a title.

This is for good reasons. Millsap is a 15-year veteran with four NBA All-Star appearances and an All-Defensive team selection under his belt. He’s lost a step as he enters his mid-30s but his shooting touch has only grown stronger and his experience is still worthwhile for a team looking to win it all.

As of now, the Warriors don’t really have any scorers in the frontcourt. Nemanja Bjelica was a great signing for this reason but he is not the versatile scorer that Millsap can be. Millsap is a career 34.3 percent 3-point shooter which is roughly league-average. But, he’s more versed in mid-range and post-scoring, two things that also help open the floor for other options.

With the taxpayer MLE being their best route to adding more talent, Millsap is the most obvious choice remaining for Golden State. They’ve already made key additions in Otto Porter and Andre Iguodala — now it is time to bring this home with one more grand slam signing that will give them all of the help needed to win next season.
