Reason why the Golden State Warriors should sign a point guard: Depth

It was implied earlier, but there just are not many point guards on this Warriors roster. Curry leads the charge, but after him, there isn’t much depth.

Poole has played the bulk of his minutes the last two seasons at the shooting guard position. Adjusting to being the backup point guard may cause issues as Poole, Lee and Mulder are all shoot-first guards.

Even if Poole is the backup, adding a player to be behind, especially considering Curry’s injury history, would be smart.

This feels like the same situation that happened last season when the Warriors got a few weeks into the season with just Kevon Looney, who is also injury prone, and James Wiseman in their frontcourt.

They need to learn from that mistake and get ample point guard depth. Trading is more ideal as it could net them a quality veteran like Rondo, but signing a player like Teague would also make sense.
