Warriors starting center: What makes Looney the best option

Essentially, what makes Looney the best option is that he’s the opposite of Wiseman.

Looney isn’t going to get trapped in the system or disappear in the flow of the game. Looney doesn’t make back-breaking mistakes, nor does he bullied often in the post. Looney is simply the perfect complement to Golden State’s current stars.

He provides the Warriors with a defensive presence and solid rim running option. Wiseman will get there one day, but that won’t be this season and it may not be in the next couple of years either. Remember, he’s only 20.

Looney isn’t the exciting option, but he’s the capable one. He fits what is needed. Looney understands how to play with Green, Curry, and Thompson, in ways that not many players have.
