Golden State Warriors target to avoid: Myles Turner

Another player the Warriors could consider is Pacers center, Myles Turner. Turner is set to make $18 million this season, so he’s also likely to force the Warriors hand when it comes to trading a max-value player.

Turner would be a solid addition, and there’s no denying that adding one of the best shot-blockers would be a win for Golden State. Again, it goes back to what the cost would be, as it’d likely be more than just Wiggins, who drastically improved as a shooter and defender this past season.

Without Victor Oladipo for most of the season, Turner was asked to be more of a scoring threat. He wasn’t, not even hitting his career-high of 13.3 points per game this past season. His lack of improvement is concerning.

While he’s a terrific threat in the paint, he’s seen his three-point shooting decline these past two seasons. Playing both Green and Turner would be a must, and without Thompson, the Warriors would need that scoring threat.

Turner has shown he can’t be that, so getting rid of Wiggins for Turner doesn’t seem smart. That ideal shot-blocking addition needs to be found in Wiseman as he must improve as a defender in his second season.
