Golden State Warriors don’t want to trade Moses Moody

The Golden State Warriors are going to absolutely love the instant two-way contributions Moses Moody is capable of. A promising young prospect with a high-enough ceiling to one day be an honorary member of the Splash Brothers, Moody shouldn’t be included in any trades just yet.

Moody built his reputation as a shooter in college. He filled it up on a nightly basis, averaging 16.8 points and leading Arkansas in total 3-pointers made (58) on 35.8 percent shooting. He continued displaying his shooting stroke in Las Vegas as he showed the Warriors the value he will bring to the team from day one.

The Dubs will find it easy to use Moody offensively. He’s going to be a decoy from the start as a threat to move off-ball and knock down open shots. Add in his somewhat capable ball-handling skills and Moody will fit right in with the current system.

Where he can really take a step forward into stardom is as a defender. Moody is a physical marvel with one of the league’s craziest wingspans. His arms stretch to over 7-feet long and he’s a strong enough athlete to be a one-man wrecking ball on defense.

For these reasons, it is hard to see the Dubs punting on his potential this season. Even if his rookie year goes worse than planed — the Warriors likely hold onto Moody for the future.
