Golden State Warriors offseason move: Drafting Moses Moody

Coming in at No. 5 is the drafting of Moses Moody.

Moody, who is more of a guard-forward combo than Jonathan Kuminga, stands 6-foot-5 and has a 7-foot-1 wingspan. Given his size, he may have a spot in the rotation immediately. Moody left Arkansas after one successful season.

With the Razorbacks, he averaged 16.8 points per game as a freshman, knocking down 42.7 percent of his attempts from the field. He also proved to be a competent three-point shooter, hitting 1.8 threes per game.

While it’s unclear where he’ll get minutes from, Moody may instantly be a better defender than players like Damion Lee and Mychal Mulder. Even if he doesn’t get many minutes, Moody fell in the draft and, at the end of the lottery, was an excellent addition.

Had the Warriors not signed so many value veterans, the addition of Moody would’ve been far higher on the list as he’s a star in the making. He averaged 16.3 points per game in four Las Vegas Summer League performances.
