While no rumors have been confirmed quite yet, the Golden State Warriors are the betting favorites to land Ben Simmons. Simmons was among the top three finalists for Defensive Player of the Year last season.

However, he caught quite a good bit of hatred for how he played late in the Sixers playoff series with Atlanta. Philadelphia lost, and many blamed Simmons’ inability to shoot let along score in the fourth quarter.

Ben Simmons no longer wants to be a Philadelphia 76er, and the Golden State Warriors are among the favorites to land the three-time All-Star guard.

The fanbase hasn’t done much appreciating of either Simmons or superstar MVP finalist Joel Embiid over the last several seasons. Now, the former wants out, and it seems like all ties are at the point of no return.

Prior to the draft, the price was looking like James Wiseman, Jonathan Kuminga (No. 7 overall pick), and then four first-round picks. No offense, Sixers manager Daryl Morey, but that was never going to happen.

The Warriors are now in an interesting position with some leverage behind them. That said, let’s dive into three reasons why they should take a chance on Simmons, especially as his value should be a fraction of what it was.
