While everyone else is busy cooking up the next big blockbuster trade that never seems to happen – -why don’t we stop to look at some more realistic targets for the Golden State Warriors next season?

The rumors about Ben Simmons joining the Dubs are flying left and right Although the franchise does appear to have a few members who are interested in Simmons, it feels unlikely a deal is made unless Philadelphia drastically lowers their asking price.

Ben Simmons is an interesting trade target. But, these five players are a more realistic fit for the Golden State Warriors next season.

Who else is out there for the Warriors? Well, let’s get a few things straight, first. The Dubs have made it clear they don’t want to trade James Wiseman or Jonathan Kuminga. It is not a stretch to say they probably aren’t interested in shipping Andrew Wiggins or Moses Moody at this point, either.

Because of this, we need to set our sights a bit lower. Golden State isn’t going to swing for the fences without a valid reason and to be frank, they don’t need to blow up this roster to compete. In fact, a smaller move later in the season could be exactly what they need to win another championship.

Our focus today will be on five players who might be available at the trade deadline. By using a combination of Kevon Looney, Otto Porter, Nemanja Bjelicia (and potentially anyone they sign with the $5.9 million dollar MLE) the Dubs will have enough money to trade for just about any of these names.
