Golden State Warriors must-sign point guard: Darren Collison

The Golden State Warriors have worked out veteran guard Darren Collison, but they’ve yet to make a move on actually acquiring him.

Collison didn’t play in the league last season which is certainly a bit concerning. Given that nothing was done in the following days after his workout, the team may not be convinced he can help much.

However, his career numbers speak another story, and if he can get even close to them, he’d be a quality backup for Curry. Collision, a former first-round pick, has averaged over ten points per game in all ten seasons in the league.

During the 2017-2018 season, he led the league in three-point percentage at 46.8, topping both Curry and Klay Thompson. He’s a career 39.4 three-point field goal percentage. That alone could make him a stellar addition. If he can defend and shoot, Collison would have a spot on the roster.

Now 34, there’s no telling if he’s still capable of playing at the NBA level, especially after not being in the league last season. Despite that, he could make a compelling case for Golden State, a team that should be searching for a backup to Curry.
