It’s all about how you view the matchup between the Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers on October 19, 2021. A side that’s gunning for glory against a side that’s not forgotten the sting that Chris Paul and Devin Booker’s Suns gave them.

And this game matters. The outcome is important. It is a big deal, really. Stephen Curry and LeBron James, two kids from Akron squaring off against each other on the national stage, while some of the players on either side are legends and absolute powerhouses, who on their day single-handedly decimate their opponents.

Pardon the theatrics, but this one’s going to be one humdinger of a season opener for both sides, and the Warriors, will be itching to take on a potential champion side in the Lakers.

This time, the Warriors will be quietly confident that they have the necessary firepower to make the playoffs

The result, win or lose will be important for the Dubs heading into the rest of the season. They didn’t really have a great 2020-21 season winning 39 of their 72 games and then being handed an overtime loss by the Memphis Grizzlies despite Curry’s 39-point masterclass.

Quite simply, the team wasn’t the same. Klay Thompson’s absence hurt, but they have and in the previous season, had their championship DNA, it just failed to show when they needed it the most.
