Stephen Curry will become the all-time 3-point leader

By the time the 2022 NBA All-Star break approaches, Stephen Curry could very well be the league’s all-time leader in 3-pointers.

It is not a shock to see Curry catapulting his way up the leader board at such an astronomical rate. He’s set to make more 3-pointers than anyone ever in significantly fewer games. Other players in the top three have all topped 1,000 career games while Curry might become the leader with fewer than 800  regular season games played.

Entering the year, Curry is at 2,832 total 3-pointers. He has only Ray Allen in front of him, sitting at 2,973.

If Curry can at least shoot at his career per-game pace of 3.7 makes, he’ll pass Allen in roughly 38 games next season. However, if Curry continues hitting at the volume he did last season (5.1 per game), he’ll become the leader in just 27 games. This means Curry can set the record before 2021 is even over.

The Warriors have a five-game road trip starting in mid-December — right around the time Curry would be projected to set the record. Hopefully, he still winds up having an opportunity to make history in front of his home crowd in the Bay area.
