Andre Iguodala has been in the NBA nearly as long as the rookies have been alive

There is plenty of value that Andre Iguodala will bring to the Golden State Warriors next season as one of their veteran leaders. However, you might be surprised to hear just how ancient Iggy is at this point in his NBA career.

Drafted in 2004 by the Philadelphia 76ers, Iguodala has been in the league for 17 years. Compare this to incoming rookies Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody, who are 18 and 10 years old respectively — and you get a good understanding of how young these players are.

Iguodala is no longer the hyper-versatile forward who clamped LeBron James in the 2015 NBA Finals. He won’t be leading the charge defensively or slashing to the hoop like he used to. Yet, Iggy is still going to have a huge impact on this team.

The Warriors have a roster full of inexperienced players. Having Iggy as one player who not only understands his role but can actively lead by example and fit in with the current Warriors’ stars is going to ease growing pains and make the transition from old dynasty to new much easier for the Dubs.
