Player the Warriors should’ve targeted: Reggie Jackson

To this day, the last major hurdle for the Warriors to get over is adding a backup point guard.

Curry is great, but he can’t be in for all four quarters. The Dubs have no competent second-string point guard. Jackson could’ve been that player, and it would’ve made a huge difference for this roster. As with Mills, Jackson is an elite shooter.

While his career three-point percentage is under 35, he topped 43 percent on three for the season. That’s mightily impressive, and as a top-tier shooting franchise, it’s a trait the Dubs could’ve used.

During the Clippers’ last two six-game series, Jackson averaged 18 or more points per game. He was extremely efficient, stepping up for when Kawhi Leonard missed time. While his Clippers didn’t get the job done, it wasn’t on him.

Jackson, like Batum, re-signed with the Los Angeles Clippers, a team that will once against have championship expectations. You can’t fault Jackson, especially since he got $22 million over those two years.

While the Warriors are contenders, having a player like Jackson would’ve made a big difference in terms of both depth and experience.
