Golden State Warriors major need: Another playmaker

Last season, it was Draymond Green and Stephen Curry against the world. Yes, Andrew Wiggins did take a step in the right direction, shooting a career-high percentage from both the field and from deep.

However, if the Warriors want to truly contend for a championship, they’re going to have to do something other than bringing back last season’s team and bank on Klay Thompson returning at 90 percent of the player he once was.

As with the point guard situation, the Warriors had a chance to sign a playmaker, and the options were there. Think of a player like Patty Mills or Reggie Jackson, both of which stepped up big time for their teams this past season.

Jackson was among the Clippers’ top postseason scorers and stepped up to help just push the Suns to six games with Kawhi Leonard out for some of that series. He could’ve been a key asset but chose to re-sign with Los Angeles.

Ever since Kevin Durant left the Bay Area, Golden State has needed to fill that playmaking void. They didn’t do that, and they may realize that’s a must. Collison could help though, having averaged over ten points per game in all ten of his NBA seasons.
