Golden State Warriors can give Isaiah Thomas a chance

Nobody in the NBA seems willing to give Isaiah Thomas another chance at this point. And, I can’t necessarily say I blame them. For all of the incredible adversities Thomas has overcome throughout his surprising career — it is hard to see the 32-year-old returning to form after numerous injuries.

Thomas rose to stardom by being a diamond in the rough for Sacramento. Selected 60th overall, Thomas wound up being one of the best members of his NBA Draft Class and excelled in scoring the basketball despite his lack of height.

In 2017, Thomas posted the best season of his career by averaging 28.9 points per game. It was one of the most prolific scoring seasons from an undersized guard in league history. Since then, however, Thomas has struggled due to a hip injury.

Defense has always been an issue for a player this short and his loss of athleticism on offense has costed Thomas in a major way. Since being traded from Boston, Thomas is posting just 12.6 points on 38.4 percent shooting.

I would not put it past the Warriors if they chose not to take a chance on an aging star who is only good for one end of the floor. Yet, with a need for additional shot creation on the bench, Thomas could be worth filling out the final roster spot.
