Golden State Warriors player that should make jump: Jordan Poole

After the Warriors’ 15-win season two seasons ago, many players that were given quite a bit of time during that season saw their numbers regress, and there was good reason why. The return of Stephen Curry changes quite a bit.

For Jordan Poole, he improved his numbers. The team’s first-round draft pick in 2019, Poole struggled to kick off the 2019-2020 season, but as an undersized, score-first guard, those struggles are understandable.

His second season in the league, Poole did much better both in terms of his efficiency and scoring. He averaged 12 points per game, up from 8.8 his rookie season. His efficiency is what really mattered, improving to 43 percent from 33 percent.

Poole stands 6-foot-4, and while he’s still undersized in terms of weight at the shooting guard position, he should be able to take a step forward as a scorer. If he can hit 15 points per game, Poole’s season should be deemed a success.

It would be shocking if Poole, Curry, and Thompson weren’t three of the five helping close games late in the season.
