Golden State Warriors: 3 players expected to make a big jump next season
Golden State Warriors player that should make jump: Juan Toscano-Anderson
Juan Toscano-Anderson stepping up isn’t going to be the same as Poole or Wiseman. There’s a very small chance he starts consistently this season; however, after trading Eric Paschall, the role behind Draymond Green will be JTA’s to lose.
This past season, he did everything right. When in the game, he played with a high level of energy and did his role perfectly. On the offensive end, all the Warriors needed from him was to space the court. Shooting over 40 percent from deep, he did just that.
The 28-year-old also neared 58 percent from the field. If he can hold that steady along with his shooting and increasing his 5.7 points per game just a bit, he should be able to hold off Otto Porter Jr., a player likely to cut into JTA’s minutes.
Toscano-Anderson played 20.9 minutes per game last season. It’ll be important for him to set himself apart early in the season, but after what we saw from him last season, the ceiling given his athleticism is higher than that of Porter Jr. and Nemanja Bjelica.
JTA’s improvements won’t be as crucial for the success of the team, but if he can adequately fill that stretch four role consistently, it’ll certainly help win the team games.
If all three step up in a big way, you can bet a championship this coming season will be far more obtainable.
