(Internal) Golden State Warriors record that won’t be broken — 3 titles in 4 years

This is only an internal record as it’s almost guaranteed that some team will eventually complete a three-peat, and the Warriors didn’t even quite get the three-peat as Thompson and Kevin Durant both couldn’t finish out the series against Toronto.

The Warriors lost the 2019 NBA Finals after winning it in both 2017 and 2018. They also won in 2015 which was arguably their most impressive title as they didn’t have multiple MVPs on the same roster.

It was impressive for the Dubs to make it to five straight NBA Finals. But, after Kevin Durant left and Thompson was out for the entirety of the following season, it was clear their dominant stretch over the West was over.

In the BAA, the Warriors won a Finals and then lost a Finals in back-to-back seasons. They won the Finals in 1956 and in 1975, but they didn’t reach the Finals in the season before or after either of those.

The five straight Finals and three titles in four years should be a couple of records that internally stick around for quite some time.
