Golden State Warriors record that won’t be broken — 678 threes by a duo

Back in the 2015-2016 season, Stephen Curry set the record for the most threes in a season, but it wasn’t just one record he shattered. Curry and five-time All-Star Klay Thompson combined for 678 threes, a record that may never be broken.

Per USA Today’s article from 2016, when they did topple the record, it was only the one that they had previously set.

Curry is the best shooter to ever play basketball, and with a player that’s yet to have a season shooting under 40 percent from deep, it’s clear there couldn’t have been a better player than Thompson by his side.

Curry may have broken his most three-point field goals in a season had this past season been 82 games. He averaged 5.1 threes per game during the 2015-2016 season, knocking down a total of 402. He’s eclipsed 350 just one other time.

As for Thompson, he hit 276 threes that season, the most of his career. That season was the 11th most threes in a single season. Both of those players on the same team is just insane, and one reason why they broke the single-season win record.
