3 high-profile Golden State Warriors preseason trade targets
Golden State Warriors preseason trade target: Ben Simmons
The price has to drop drastically for the Warriors to consider trading for Ben Simmons. Until that happens, this is never going to be a reality. However, his dynamic playmaking in transition and tenacious defense would both be welcome in the Bay Area.
Many think the combination of forward Draymond Green and Simmons may flop, but both unselfish playmakers with two of the best shooters in league history also on the court could be a recipe for success.
Simmons is a three-time All-Star, averaging over 14 points, 6 assists, and 7 rebounds per game a season ago.
During his second season in the league (he’ll be entering his fifth this fall), Simmons averaged 16.9 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 7.7 assists. The 25-year-old is a do-it-all guard that stands 6-foot-11 and has terrific defensive instincts. He’d be a great addition to any roster.
However, at the price of four first-round picks, James Wiseman and Andrew Wiggins, every team should pass, but if the situation continues to deteriorate, expect that price to drop, potentially to a range in which Golden State wouldn’t mind getting in on.
